In the Studio

With the Chicago Renegade Craft Fair just around the bend, the days are blurring together into a steady stream of drawing, painting and a seemingly endless supply of caffeine to my system. Just like these last few weeks of summer as we shift from a bright warm green world into one of crisp browns and golds I find my own color palette and focus changing with the seasons.

In my studio I'm immersed in a world of soft fur and gentle eyes, honey bees and allspice, fluttering wings on dark nights and mottled feathers gleaming in the moonlight. I know I'll have to emerge back into the world in a few weeks, but when I do I'm happy to say that I'll have some beautiful new work to share with everyone.

If you're in the Chicago area the weekend of September 8th and 9th, I'd love to see you at Renegade Craft Fair!

Summer Break

This summer has been one of the busiest in recent memory and so it took me by surprise to realize that while I've whiled the summer away painting and drawing all sorts of plants and animals, I haven't once actually gotten away from the studio to experience these things in real life.

So it was with enormous pleasure that I stole away last weekend to go camping and generally immerse myself in the outdoors.
